The experience of illustrating my next book has stayed with me and I’ve devoted more and more time to my artwork. Although I’d only dabbled in art and watercolor until then, being immersed in creating illustrations for my own book helped shift my focus from photography to art. Now I can’t imagine a future project where I can’t partner it with artwork. As you’ve seen from my recent nature journal entries, I’m doing more and more with watercolor and although I’ve done a lot now, I haven’t hardly painted any landscapes. So I decided I needed to practice them. This is from a photo I took at Syöte National Park in Finland a few years ago.
